Vincent Audio SA 31

I'm racking my brain to decide between the Parasound 2100 and the Vincent. I love the idea of a tubed pre, but I also love the idea of integrated sub with crossovers plus the remote. Can anyone shed any light that may help my decision?

    I think I did make it a tougher choice for Bill, The Vincent preamp has great sound but no DAC no Phono amp etc... for me it was perfect! but....

    Ok, I went with the Vincent. It should arrive Friday. It was seriously between that and the 2100 and if I don't like the Vincent I can exchange it for the 2100 within 30 days. This was a bit of a leap of faith for me, but a few members had very good things to say about it. In the end, if I exchange it I know the Parasound will not disappoint.

    this was the Vincent gateway for me. such a sweet little phono pre.

    Got the Vincent pre last night and did some listening. It still has to burn in but right from the beginning it was obvious that this pre was something special. Previously I was using the Teac DAC which has a built-in pre and let me tell you the differences were not subtle. My son and I listened to it for about an hour and all I can say is this is the best my system has ever sounded. I may very well have found the sound I've been chasing for the last few years. After I have some time with it I'll go into more details but, needless to say, I am one happy camper right now.

    Cool man. I know some dig using a dac as a pre, but a separate pre....a decent one anyway, adds another dimension to the sound. Glad it's curling your toes, enjoy.

    Ooh Ooh!! "Even my wife heard a difference", that's all it takes for our better halves. Once my wife could tell a difference it was MUCH easier to spend money on toys!!

    It sounds so good that I haven't looked at gear in three days. In fact, I'm hard pressed to find anything to upgrade at this point. I may send out the Parasound amp and have it re-capped and checked out. Otherwise, the 2ch rig sounds damn near perfect.
