Feels like I've been cheated by the Tech Shop or my PFB moment.

I just got my Parasound 1500 back after being in the shop for a couple of months. I had originally brought it in to get a checked out to insure nothing was wrong with it because I was selling it.
He had said it needed to be re-capped which I didn't mind because because it is close to 20 years old and I felt that would be a refresh kind of for the amp at which point I pulled it from the FM as I decided to keep it.
Well it turns out it was the bias that needed adjustment and cleaning apparently which he done but never called me.
So I feel like I got the staft it cost me $162.00 CAD for something I could have done myself, the amp didn't get re-capped, and when I said as much to the owner he shrugged and said his admin staff called and I agreed to get it fixed, well it wasn't my number they written it down wrong. So apparently who ever answer told them to go ahead and fix it???
And then he goes to me you don't have to paid but he is going to keep the amp!!
Well F%$k me I felt like I was Polkfarmboy (sorry PFB but this Sh$t happen to you all the time)So I wasn't left with much of a choice but to paid as he is a Mom & Pop operation, It stated right on the wall that if services are not paid for they keep the item in bold print. If I call the Cops they're going to laugh and tell me take it to Small Claims Court.

Anyway I'm just venting as the amp works great seems to run a bit cooler.

Cheers

Sorry to hear that, do you have a better business bureau that you can call, here you just need to call KAKE-TV on your side and they go talk to him and he be on the news at 10 for his bad business practice.

No I'm not going to do anything about it as I said I'm just venting by telling you guys.

He thought he was in the right, I could have checked to make sure they had the right cell number but it never even occurred to me.

$162 CAD........That's like $3.75 USD. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
    Guy sounds like tailhole, though.

You want Tonyb and me to pay him a "visit?
You just might get your next work done pro-bono.
    Capisce?

That's complete BS. Drop a business name so your Canadian brethren know who to stay away from. Do a Yelp review. Don't just pay and suck it up.

I have told all my buddies already and Bill said he had a his TV fixed with no issues, So like I said this was more of a vent thread. While I appreciate your enthusiasm I'm not quite ready to call the dogs of war quite yet.

My friend was cheated by a money grabbing store owner. To shorten the story he came to my door at 7am and woke me up and said you gota come see this so we took a drive and sat in the car in the distance. At 7:45 am we watch the store owner appear and after he starts fidgeting around my friends laughing and Im asked whats so funny but to keep me in suspense he just keeps saying watch. It turns out he squirted super glue into that large heavy duty locks on the shutter. On the third time he did it I was saying that enough is enough as we watched then locksmith bringing out blow torches and all kinds of stuff.

Pay the bill with your credit card.

Contact the bank and have the charge stopped.

I would take them to small claims court. When you file, include the filing fee in the total dollar damages, and it won't take much paper work on your end to win the case. Most judges are sympathetic to the little guy, and I guarantee the shop will settle as they don't want a judgement on their record.

Well the way I thinking about it is like this now that some time has passed is the minimum bench fee is $50.00 and then he charges $100.00 per hour. So even. if I had received the phone call it would probably have costed me at least a $100.00 for his services and then I would has spent hour or so adjusting the bias myself.

The amp is working great seems to run a bit cooler as the room is at 20 Celsius now and it was 22 Celsius before ( all my amps and such are in a small 4x5 room)

He was a snarky bast#$d I give you that.

    Cheers

Good point, I'm old enough to have started out learning imperial and switched to metric in grade school and now I think imperial for measurement and metric for temperature and vehicle speed. Totally f@#ked I know.

And the room is a small closet 4' x 5'
