    The one thing I would add to all of this now that I think about it... is that I really didn't use the remote on the preamp that much, in fact the McCormack is still hooked up to the Audible Illusions (I pair the Dodd with my Dodd 50W now - when it's fixed anyway... grrr) and I hardly ever find myself thinking about having a remote anymore.

    Just saying, it might not be the deal breaker you think it is? I just don't miss it. I do have a much greater tendency to listen all the way through a CD or album side than I used to now as well.

    I understand what you're saying but the remote is mandatory for me. Different needs for different people B)

    I think it will sound tubey enough. I haven't had my ears on one, but it was on my list when I was looking, before I got the Eastern Electric Mini Max.

    The Fusion has less inputs but it has an HT pass through/bypass & they have the same # of outputs. I don't have any balanced gear so that isn't a concern for me.

    jd-5t = 2 pcs. 12AX7

    Fusion = 2 pcs. 12AX7; 2 pcs. 12AT7 (2x the $ to put decent tubes in it)
