I think my answer is to make the motion control adjustments while viewing Netflix. That way every time after I use it, that soap opera effect will be gone.

I have my motion control set to off for all viewing. I watch Netflix often.
The best way to predict the future is to invent it.

It is imperative that we recognize that an opinion is not a fact.

My friend that I house/dog sit for has a Sony and I turn off the motion control every time I go over there. I can't believe people like that it looks so artificial and strange with it turned on to me.

Mine are off for viewing, my problem is when watching Netflix, it's not applying and I get the usual soap opera look. I watch cable, no soap opera, hit Netflix and there it is. Googling I stumbled across someone who said to make those adjustments while watching Netflix so the TV will remember those settings for Netflix every time.

This would make sense if it's not taking when you're setting it under TV.

Cfrizz: I've always liked Captain Janeway and Kate in other stuff, pretty much all other stuff I've seen her in. Very classy. And I'm old enough that I made it a point to be home for every episode of the original Star Trek.

tony, I think you had to do it that way, because technically Netflix is a different input. You're streaming, probably WIFI(?), rather than using the cable or other input.

I am not sure if you would have to do it again if, for instance, you were to stream another source like Amazon Prime or Hulu, but I think that setting it up for Netflix should take care of it for those sources also.

Like I said, the wife wanted it for House of Cards. Now that she's done watching every episode of season 4, she never watches Netflix. I tried getting into Jessica Jones and Daredevil but....they both seem kinda hokey to me.

So I told the wife if she isn't going to watch it at least sometimes, cancel it, because I probably won't.
