my tv doesn't have digital optical cable hook-up for my soundbar 5500

Is there another way to hook up to tv? I have it hooked up now through cable box but the volume is off a little bit from peoples lip movements on tv

Quick lookup and review of manuals for both of these devices

From page 7 of the soundbar manual

    From your tv's spec page

Looks like your tv still offers digital out, but it's digital coax not optical.
If you're not getting satisfactory results with the audio from the cable box to the soundbar, you could try one of these converters that changes coax to optical. My parents' tv was the same way, and this converter did the trick; $12. Be sure to add to your order a digital coax and optical cables as well for best results.

Another option is to get an RCA > 3.5mm stereo cable, and connect that from your Audio Out jacks on the tv to Analog Input 2 on the Soundbar.

I'd probably go with the converter, personally. Should be a stronger, cleaner signal to the soundbar than the analog. Not sure how much processing the Soundbar does with respect to the subwoofer portion of the system, but you might be handicapping it to a degree if you only feed it an analog signal.

Happy it all worked out, but you blew a big opportunity to convince your significant other that it's time to upgrade. Once they learn there is a cheaper solution, they will never go along with letting you spend another penny! :D

On a second look, I was mistaken about this other possible option I noted before. Both of those RCA audio ports on your tv are for inputs, so it looks like your only option here was the digital coax, after all. Sorry, overlooked that the first time around.
