Wth? My post is gone? Anyway I think I've got it sort of. Turn off the main xo and.and turn the sub xo all the way down but I don't think it will go all the way to zero.
I am just trying to see how the speakers sound full range -
I just didn't hook my sub up to the P5 since I didn't want it on for music.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden

I want to hear it both ways but the main thing is hearing the 707s by themselves.. Anyway that will determine whether I leave the subs hooked up to the P5

It's working, I am a forking jeanyus!

Try composing all your thoughts in a single post. You are very tedious to follow with all your one line posts...........it's annoying.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
I understand the excitement. The crossover on the p5 makes it nice to run subs with. I said this before in my review of it last year, I only wish they would put the crossover settings on the front and the sub volume on the remote.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

That is very generous. I doubt I have had 20 things to say in 2000 post.
H9 please forgive me, I have no social skills as I am a hermit. I really don't talk to people so it shows when I post stuff. It is me talking to myself and sometimes it overflows onto the keyboard.

Got my speakers aimed a little better and running FLAC's straight from the PC to the P5 via USB and things have improved quite a bit. It is odd that some music tends to kick off the subs when the xo is down at 20 but it is rare that it happens. Special thanks to whoever it was that suggested using a laser to aim the speakers, that worked great and I only shot my Lazy Boy twice.

Received my P5 from Skip yesterday. Nice looking piece. This replaced an Adcom GTP500 pre that was quite a way past it's prime. Spent a few hours yesterday evening enjoying some familiar music on CD.
First thing I noticed was how quiet this was compared to the Adcom. No background noise at all coming from the speakers like there was before. I actually looked to make sure speakers cables were plugged back in when I fired it up.
The bass management is the kicker for me so far. I run a sub with my CRS setup and although I thought it was integrated well before, this is much much smoother with the P5 analog crossovers in play at 50HZ.
I AB'd back and forth between the NAD CDP DAC and the P5 DAC since I wired it both ways for comparability. At first I kept leaning toward the CDP, as I felt the P5 DAC sounded leaner with a thinner soundstage, but after I put on Gaucho which is one of my go-to's for reference material, I decided to stick with the P5 DAC through Wireworld COAX from the CDP. The bottom end was perceived to be tighter and the highs more refined. And this is right out of the box. Can only get better from here.
Next up, FLAC files through USB from the PC. This will be a nice relaxing weekend.Lexicon RT-10, Parasound P5, McCormack DNA 0.5, Polk SDA CRS+, SVS Sub

For the $ it is hard to beat. Isn't it nice when you're enjoying the music instead of being over critical on it? That pre has a nice full bodied sound to it.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.
