Got my Crossovers back from Westmassguy, who did an awesome job. Got everything back together and was ready for some break in time. That's when Murphy struck and decided to throw me a curve ball. Decided to put the voodoo on my Krell Amp. Thank the heavens my old trusty Adcom 555II, previously in storage, is still up to the task and out of storage. Still holding judgement on the upgrades for now.

Sad....Was it Snap, Crackle, or Pop that did them in?
I'm burning in another set of Xovers and this time I put them on a crappy shop amp. The exact same first 15min or so on the Caps and resistors make some of the strangest iterations as the last set.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -

No, no snap, crackle pop just an constant buzz from one channel, crap! Its off to Krell for an overhaul. Still breaking in the Crossovers using the Adcom, I got the Sonicaps, Gimpods Boards, Mills Resistors but on advise left the coil inductors alone. Twas quite a change and they are sounding better every hour that passes. It takes time. So far I'm noticing subtle differences.

The 3.1s only have one Dimensional woofer. Changing the Sub-Bass Drive Inductor would not have made any appreciable difference in the deep bass response of the speaker. The board lever inductors were hand tuned to < 1% tolerance between the two crossovers.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Sorry to hear about the Krell Gunther. Plan on at least 200-300 hours burn-in before everything settles in.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Does this apply to 2A's and 2B's as well?afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

The increased bass response is quite noticeable. Same applies to the CRS+s.
