I will replace with the 802D3.

However, there has been a curveball to the effort... and that's the Rockport Avior.

I will demo the 2 back to back this thursday but was wondering if anyone here has heard the Rockport Aviors... and if they had some thoughts on the subject.

Thanks

So... in an effort to move forward... I have decided the 802D2 need to go.

I think the new 802D3 looks miles better than my current 802D2. The Aviors look sinister.

Joey should give the shorts away with the 802D3's, Those Rockport's little pretty cool!

It's a sad story when those now infamous shorts have been in contact with far better gear than I've ever been near.

Mainly the crotch area has been in contact with the gear, but I'm not here to judge...

I bet he can't fold them in fear that they'd snap....due to a "starchy buildup".

    Jerks.

I think 802d3 is the way to go honestly, the Aviors have too high a premium.

Going on looks alone, the Aviors are oozing class and manly sex appeal.

my bad, thought you already had the 802D3's, now I see you thinking of choosing between the 2.
At least get your ears on the Rockport's and let us know how they sound!

    Sorry I was not clear.

I have the 802d2 but looking to replace with 802d3... 98% sure. But before I did, I wanted to see if the Aviors were significantly better given the premium price. But I think given the price delta, I'm probably better off with the 802d3 since I already know it's an upgrade from my 802d2.

I've heard the Aviors but it's been a while. And my friend who has the Rockport Cygnus has tempted me to jump to the Rockport line. So that's where my mind started to waver.

But I'm pretty sure I'm headed down the 802d3 track.

I think the BW are just stunning looking up close compaired to the Rockport. The rockports however have a better tonal balance and the highs are lighter are more free floating than the BW. With the new BW you know the sounds coming from them but with the rockport you simply dont, you just let your jaw go slack and try figure out why they are so magical.

I am a big fan of the french Artists and my fav is the group ' Air' because of the unique sound and you can trest an entire speakers range with only a couple of tracks. The bass on the rockport reminded me of my kef blade in the speed and how deep they can dig. If finances are part of the decision then a used pair of rockport is not that far from a new pair of BW.

Actually the 802d3 disappear like no other I've heard. The curved baffle works magic

Woohoo, new shorts, new shorts, new shorts... I mean new speakers! Having never heard either I would say I prefer the artistic look of the BW. So when they release 802d4 will you want to trade in your d3s?

I am not saying they dont but rather the rockport for my tastes are much better at it as no speaker really dissapears. The BW have always seemed the speaker for the audio magpie.

    Nope on the Rockports.

We will see what kind of tax damage I get first then I'll think about the D3
