PSW404 rattle

Lately i've been having a problem with my PSW404.
It rattles on all frequencies. It sits level, and it doesn't make noise if I shake it.
This subwoofer has been cared for very well. The volume is kept at about half-way.
Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, the sub is about 10 years old. The warranty is long gone.

Have you opened it up and looked inside for something that might have come loose? If there is nothing rattling around loose inside the cabinet the spider centering the back side of the cone might be the culprit. If the spider has come loose it is most likely repairable.
