Are EL34'B' tubes pretty much the same as EL34 tubes ?
.
If so-just curious why the B ? Thanks in advance

    Interesting read ^^^^ thanks. Being fairly new to tubes im just trying to see what different ones i can use where my amplifier has EL34b's. Id like to roll some different types

    Yes, they should be the same. I don't believe they are any different other than from a different manufacturer so they may or may not sound different.

    Give the JJ E34L tube a try. The Russian SED =C= (winged C) EL34 tubes are excellent, one of the best.

    EL34B was assigned to the "New Sensor" mana tired Tung Sol labeled EL34. Funny thing is there was never even an original Tung Sol EL34 back in the 50s or 60s. Totally interchangeable with EL34s or 6CA7s. Another option is the KT77.

    Ive read the KT77's are good. Those will fit too ? Being newbee to tubes i havent yet learned what will fit - where these are el34b's. Thanks for feedback

    KT 77's are not compatible with Yaqin and Silk EL34 based integrated amplifiers.
