Surroundbar SDA troubleshooting

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a surroundbar SDA from my uncle. He said it worked fine for him. I hooked up the sound bar to my LG tv using a toslink to rca adapter. Everything worked great until about 5 minutes after the soundbar is on. After about 5 minutes the speaker starts to make a loud squealing noise. No matter what gain level I place it on it makes the same noise. If I disconnect the rca cables it continues to make the noise. Turning on power led flashes 5 yellows then 5 green lights. If I remove the power and wait a minute it will work fine for a few minutes then start the squealing again. Is this something I can fix myself? Thanks for any and all information.
