Depends on what devices you decide to use as your streamers...
Here is how my stuff works:
Computer with music on it running Squeezebox Server -> Squeezebox in HT setup & Squeezebox in Kid room
I can use the Squeezebox app to control music in both locations independently, sync them together, etc.
Logitech has a app that works for iOS, Android and even a web control on the computer running the Squeezebox server program...
Sonos works very similar right @tonyb
And there are other network streamers that can work similar beyond those two, I just am familiar with them...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Thanks, from what I am seeing so far I would rather get another Oppo and keep doing what I am doing for what a decent NAS setup cost.

Whatever works man.
Diff strokes and all.
I love how easy it to use my computer personally but that's me.
I'm bout to snag another 2 TB drive for my HTPC for just my music so I can move it off my older computer.

@EndersShadow I have my two mains, the third is just because I have extra pieces. If I did have another Oppo I would use the same media manager and be pretty happy with it. Backup and duplicate works.
