Question about Sw80 swap.

I have a set of polk monitor 5 + and a pair of RTA11tls. One of the 8 inch radiators on my RTAs is busted (SW81), would I be able to use my monitor 5's 8 inch radiators (SW80)? I figured due to no voice coil or magnet assembly as long as it mounts it should perform as normal. Am I correct in that assumption?

Your assumption is incorrect. The reason PR's of the same mounting size have different model numbers is because they are not the same. They are tuned to each speaker model by weight. You can mount the SW80 without issue, but the bass response and character will change.Political Correctness'.........defined

To the best of my knowledge, there are no suitable rubber surrounds available for the vintage Polk PR's or mid-drivers. Your best bet is to keep an eye open for a replacement on sites such as eBay.Political Correctness'.........defined
