Orientation of Bi Polar Clarity Caps

I read somewhere that even though a bi polar capacitor can be installed either way that there was indeed a better way to connect it by using the bulge on one side to the positive side or something of that sort. Anyway, I have ClarityCap ESA thanks to Vr3 and I would like to know if there is a better/best way to install them as I see no bulge of any kind. Both sides of the capacitors are flat. Thanks.

I asked vr3 this same question when building my crossovers, he said it doesn't matter. So I placed the writing the proper side up so everything on the board looked uniform.

The longer lead is connected to the outer foil (shield) and should be connected to the negative side or ground. You may or may not be able to hear the difference.

Thanks, I did the same. I looked at a few images as well.

Thanks F 1. That is exactly what I read somewhere. I will document for future reference. Come to think of it, I would like to know how to identify the foil end as well.

I used the ESA'S as well in my rta12c's with fantastic results. Never heard of" direction" before. But also have no issues.

Do bipolar capacitors have quirky personalities if they aren't given medication?

My tech told me the ESA'S are bi-sexual not bi-polar as they go both ways.

Are you saying that I needed Lithium capacitors or can I just sprinkle some of my Lithium on them ? How about adding some Seroquel, Cymbalta and Lamictal while I am in there, would that help ? I would hope they do not become manic or too depressed to work after that. Adding it would not be a problem when I go back in to dampen the drivers and I already have plenty, really, I do.

Let's just say that I prefer the term "non-polar" to "bi-polar", although both are in common usage.
