SDA CRS

So I found a pair of these on CL and I have been enjoying them immensely. The bass response isn't quite what I hoped for but, I have not truly opened them up. They do sound a little more fuller. I notice a lot of other little things that I have not "heard before". The way the snare sounds in Breakfast in America, the way some of the guitar sounds in Big ole Jetairline. I look forward to some nice listening with these when I can get around to working on the crossovers. I might just mount these on shelves until I can get decent speaker stands.

Which CRSs did you get? Single tweeter + models or the originals? My CRSs have been my main 2 CH listening choice for a few years now. Upgraded tweeters when I first got them, and just recently went all in with Sonicaps, Mills resistors, removed polyswitch, Larry's rings, and dampened the driver baskets... They sound better than ever and something to think about if you're up for it. All of those upgrades really tightened up the midbass and bass too.
Also, I had a local metal fab shop build some CRS stands to the original Polk stand specs and they turned out pretty good. Did it for less than you can buy most aftermarket stands for. $20 bucks in steel and a bit in labor.
Congratulations on the new speakers and hope you enjoy them as much as I am mine.

I have the two tweeter version. I am going to listen to them the way they are for now, and then disable the "2nd" tweeter. I am looking forward to upgrading them. -
They should perform quite well after upgrades. Bookshelf placement is the worst. The Passive is on the rear, and requires space for the bass frequencies to propagate.Home Theater/2 Channel:

I still haven't heard the two tweeter CRSs, but I'll probably pick up the next pair I see at a fair price just to play around with. I've listened to SDA 2As, Monitor 10s and Monitor 11s in the same room on the same equipment, and I have to say that I enjoy the CRSs more than any of them.Lexicon RT-10, Parasound P5, McCormack DNA 0.5, Polk SDA CRS+, SVS Sub
