midock doesn't play

I got a miDock Studio second hand. It was in perfect visual condition and love the design.
Put my iPod in stand and found no sound output. The control advances music selection, and I can hear more hum as volume is increased, but no music output. I also have it plugged into the 12 volt transformer, but doesn't seem to be charging the iPod as it should. Suggestions? Where can I get parts? Thanks for the help, Boo
