Denon AVR-3313CI Price?

What do you guys think a good price for a used Denon AVR-3313CI should be? I just saw one listed on Craigslist, I'd love to buy it, but I have no idea if the asking price is reasonable. Thanks!

Well, I bought a 3312ci in 2013 for $439, open box from Best Buy. I talked them down
$60 since some of the items were missing; the unit was brand new, but w/o the power cord, manual, packing materials, mic, etc., though the guy did find me a remote from a 43xx series AVR that he threw in the bag for me.

They listed new for $1099 at that time, so if it's used in good shape with all the toys, maybe $300-400? I like Denon in general and this model in particular, especially since they made the user interface so much easier to navigate.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Perfect. The seller is asking $350... BTW, accessories4less is selling refurb units for $499... Looks like I'm getting a new toy :-)

That's a nice unit for a good price, any way to audition it before you buy?
Maybe post what you think of it once you get it in your rig.

Yep, I'll go have a listen tomorrow. It's probably overkill for what I'll be using it for, but better to get too much than too little and have to upgrade in a few months. Right now, i just have a 5.1 setup with polk RTi38s in the front, CSi30 center, Monitor 30 surrounds, and a PSW110 (saving my pennies for a SVS PB-1000). The room design is suboptimal right now, so we'll see how well the Audyssey calibration deals with it... I'll post an update when i figure out how to run it and had a chance to play with it a bit.

That receiver is not overkill for what you have. It does not have good current output or dynamic range.
It has a nice warm sound to it and should be completely fine for your system. You can move up to floor standing like the RTia7's in the future if you wish and still have enough power to drive them in small.
Be careful with these units as they had some issues with the HDMI boards in them. Many failures I have seen during this model run.

+1, I run older RTi10s as fronts and this AVR definitely made 2ch listening a lot more
enjoyable, though I still primarily use this system for HT. I set them to large especially
if I am listening at less than normal levels, say -30db, when the sub doesn't really make its presence felt as much.

The good (best?) thing about this AVR is that if he does upgrade to larger speakers, he has the ability to add a separate amp via preouts.

I have read quite a few user reviews complaining about HDMI problems, but that seems to be an issue with almost every other receiver from that time period. And it's something that manifests itself only sporadically, so i won't be able to really test for that... I hope that's not why the guy is selling it....

Not the SC model from Pioneer Elite. They did not have any known HDMI issues. I installed every single series from the 0- 9 series.

Well, I ended up not buying it. Right off the bat, the display didn't come on when the unit was powered up. It needed a tap on the top cover to make it work. Not a good sign, so I took a pass... Thanks for all the info though.

Better to find out before you got it home. The refurbed unit you mentioned might be worth looking into.
And keep checking your local Magnolia/BestBuy, you never know what they'll have
from week to week and it comes with a warranty. I see Denon, Marantz, and Pioneer as open box items all the time.

I'm staring to think that with receivers, Craigslist may not be the way to go. A warranty is a really nice thing to have with complex electronics. I'll have to get over my pathological cheapness :-)
