Check out this little jewel I pickled up today. One guy sold me a Sansui G 8070 and another came by just after with it..I had to have it ! A Star-Lite FM-550 Tube AM/FM radio. Super sweet ! Made in Japan. I was amazed to see the condition of this little portable. Whats really neat is that the speakers do not use wires. The hinges are the two connection points for the speakers ! The cabinet closes up and you can still jam. The speakers can be disconnected and by using two separate RCA type jack cables can be reconnected to the AM/ FM Amp section ! Love it ! It actually sounds OK too !!

Thanks, I love the little thing already. I have never seen such a small tube type radio. -

Sure did. When I wiped her down and cleaned her up last night. I am going to brasso them eventually. -
Spiffy!
Thanks F1, I really loved it when a local station played Black Sabbath last night right after I fired it up. Had to turn it up loud enough to hear a little distortion in Tony's guitar.. -
I love old radios and pick one up every chance I get.
Friends and family come looking for a good radio

With all my years at fmtunerinfo.com I can honestly say there as far as I know no one has shown or talked about one. Maybe take those pictures over there to see what they have to say.
Pretty cool -

Yeah, it's a Model 21, with a custom made Cambridge Audio passive sub that I crossed over at 130Hz.
People try and guess where all the bass is coming from.
That's the cool thing about those old 21's, they have an extra speaker out, as well as a tuner out jack. -
You could connect some rabbit ears for an antenna.

Be very very quiet, I'm hunting wabbits.

I have a set of bakelite bunny ears from the 50's that I used to use on that Model 21. (they're in the closet now)
It's hooked up in tandem to my TV via a home made tv antenna outside the window at the moment.
I used one of those flat coaxial cables that hangs right over the upper window sash.
