New Source (of sorts)

I just picked up a new (to me) source for some 2-Channel SACD & CD playback; a Pioneer ELITE DV-47Ai. Yes, I am aware that this model has been around for quite some time but, it was well within my budget and, I wanted something that could spin SACDs. The audio is very good but the video is not so hot.
After it arrived I let it acclimate for about a day and then I cleaned up the front with some clear plastic cleaner from Meguiar's (now it looks like new again).
I haven't done an A vs B comparison against the music server but, it sounds really good to me and the Mrs.
I think I've got the right synergy in the set up in the living room (finally) and I like it a lot! I don't mind getting up to manually switch the discs because, in this way and only in this way, it is similar to listening to vinyl; you have to get up and change (or flip) the record.
Anywho, I'm liking what I'm hearing but I'm having some issues with the OriGen USB DAC (if the PC shuts down for any reason, I have to uninstall the associated software, restart the computer, install the software, restart the computer, and then reprogram the settings on the DAC itself). I don't enjoy going through this process so I'm on the look out for a different USB DAC.
I don't have the resources to pool together the type of gear I had the last time I was active on the forms but I'm really not missing the gear from back then either. Don't get me wrong, that was some great stuff but, what I have now is making me happy.
I'm grateful for the advice and assistance I've received from the good folks on the polk forums and I wanted to say thanks to all those that have contributed to my current audio delight

If I paid $1200 for a piece of gear (I have and more) I'd take care of it. lol.

I have the 47i and had the 45A in the past. I don't use mine much for SACD, but the sound is spot on. The 47i is just a regular DVD playback, does not upconvert, so the PQ is just that compared to BR unit. With that said it holds its own compared to other DVD players. As with any setup, you have to consider which of you units are doing the conversion (if you have a 1080p TV) is it the TV or if you are running it through a AVR is it doing the upconverting to support the natural aspect of the 1080p TV.Family Room HT 7.2/i]:Vizio Oled55h1 Pioneer Elite SC-LX502 Pioneer Elite BDP 85FD Eversolo DMP A6 Panamax M5300-EXSpeakers Fronts Fluance XF8L Center Polk Audio S35 Side Surrounds Fluance bipolar Rear Surrounds FluanceXF8 Bookshelf Subs SVS PB4000 x2 Living room 2ch: Crown Xli 1500 amp Teac EQ MKII FX Audio X6 Mk II DAC Squeezebox Touch Fluance Signature Tower Speakers Panamax M5100-EXOffice media room:Vizio M50Q6 50" Pioneer Elite VSX LX301 Eversolo DMP-A6 Polkaudio R50 Towers Polkaudio CS 10 Panamax M4300 Monoprice 12" subMaster bedroom:Vizio M55Q7 Pioneer Elite VSX LX302 Pioneer Elite BDP 85FD Squeezebox Touch Polk audio RTi 6 fronts, Rears Dayton B652 Polk Audio CS10 center Monoprice 12" sub Panamax M5300-EX

The component video cables are run from the 47Ai to the Marantz 1402 and from the 1402 to the TV. I don't think there's any upconverting by the 1402. The DENON AVR2113CI I had could upconvert HDMI to 4K, but I don't think that applies to signals from component video; doesn't matter because I replaced the DENON with the Marantz. FWIW, the TV's maximum resolution is 1080p, but it doesn't upconvert anything.Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro
