CS 350-LS center crossover mods

Thought I would give my new to me CS350 an upgrade. I started by checking the schematics in the archives for this particular speaker, according to the PDF the only items are 2 inductors and one 5.8 mfd. electrolytic capacitor. I decided not to replace the inductors as I don't know the specifics of those. Prior to ordering the new capacitor I thought why not pull the crossover to make sure of the value, when I did I was surprised to see a 2ohm 5 watt sandcast resistor there as well. no mention of that anywhere in the schematics or posts for that matter. Anyway here are some pics enjoy, I will be back later after some burn in time and let you know my thoughts.

Conradicles funny that resistor is not in the Schematics. Is it for the high pass or what? I should have looked closer at the circuit board traces, to see.

I have one that has a resister, and one that doesn't. What's the definitive answer on whether or not to use it when upgrading these?

See if there's a date code or revision # on the crossover. The only schematic we have, shows just the Cap and the two Inductors. Whichever one you have with a later date, should be the revised version. The Tweeter and woofers may also have a date on them.Home Theater/2 Channel:
