Anyone shopping for a Dining room set?

OK so we moved in our brand new house that we had built 13 years ago.
We got all new furniture at that time which my wife basically was running my broke.
We got a really nice dining room set in Maple Wood with 4 Maple chair with Tan padding. We also got the optional different colored chairs in Red, Blue , Yellow and Green. This gave us a wonderful optional look for our dining room and with the leaf installed, you can sit 8 people at the table which was nice.
Over the years my wife and daughter destroyed the top of the beautiful Maple table with nail polish remover and ruined the finish. They don't think that the remover can go thew a single paper towel.
This wasn't the biggest deal as we usually have a table cloth on it and you don't see the marking from the disaster of nail polish. What did happen is over time my wife decided to start throwing away chairs that became loose. I didn't know until we where down to 4 chairs and I told her I can tighten the legs as they are bolted underneath and sometimes come loose and just need to be tightened.
Well some of the chairs got stains on them and they went out the door as well. Trash man came and took them away.
So now I have to buy a new set and it's totally annoying going shopping as my wife doesn't like much at all thats out today. There is no Maple sets we have seen and we have been to man furniture stores. But I have come to like the darker wood tables and found a really cool set with storage underneath, Wine rack and you can put a leaf in it to sit more people. It's a Counter height or bar height so the chairs a cool has hell and you sit a bit higher. It's a square table instead of Rectangle and I really dig it. Wife doesn't care for it but our Dining room as taken decor to a French style Wine like room so the dark wood I feel really goes.

Here is a link to the set I like, I feel it's priced awesome as I paid more for our Maple set 13 years ago. The quality is very nice IMO.http://www.raymourflanigan.com/danfield-7-pc-counter-height-dining-set-795285610.aspxDan

I have had to deal with that same "polish remover" problem myself - very upsetting.
The sets you linked to look very nice, I like the darker color myself. The one concern
I might have is if the chairs are slid towards the table, do the front of the seats hit the
storage area before the backs hit the table edge? could mar the storage base or the backs of the chairs. It also looks like the bottom of the storage area would be a tempting place to put one's feet. I like the storage area idea. Happy shopping.

I sat at them and didn't notice that. The chairs where pushed all the way in on the floor I think. We are going out today to look again so I will test these things. Good points thanks.Dan

Those are both nice sets! They for sure have a wine room feel.
Myself, we started over when I moved a few years ago from MI to Indiana. With so much to buy, I did not have the funds to get the set that we really wanted. The Mrs. actually found a cheap Mosaic inlay set from Big Lots of all places. https://scontent.ford1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/v/t1.0-9/532789_384210364960207_1194852734_n.jpg?oh=e3c5d260c5b842186c5c004ffb6d4230&oe=56FC4BB9
This worked out for us as the first rental house we were only in for a year, then the next house did not have a dining room, only a large kitchen. So this set became a do all set that banged up pretty quick from everyday use. My daughter really scratched up some of the chairs with her studded jeans and sitting on her knees.
Now that we have moved and buying a larger home with a dining room , I'd like to get a nice dining room set. The Mrs. really likes this Klaussner Serenade set...well she likes the buffet more so than the table and chairs: https://www.diningroomsoutlet.com/media/catalog/category/klaussner-serenade-dining.jpg

Don't forget about used. Those $3K to $4K sets go for less than $1K when the owner desides to change their decor on a whim. Keep in mind I'm thinking of the people who change furniture like we swap speakers...
Check here too. They have great pricing and I hear they are expanding to ship anywhere. https://www.afwonline.com/
