I asked if they could go any lower. The salesman came back with $999. I told him it would have to be more like $600. He came back with $539 after talking with a manager. Sold. I'll be putting my A1000 in the FM in a day or two.
So.... I think I figured out why my open box "score" was initially returned to the store. After a few days, I kept noticing that every time I walked past, the front panel would be in the open (down) position. I would glance at it, notice it, wonder why i left it open, say Hmmm, close it, and move on.
Being as bright as I am, I probably did this only 10 times before realizing that I hadn't left it open! I closed it and watched... After about a minute, it sloooowly began opening and 30 seconds later it was wide open. So, electronically, this baby is doing the job - just a slight mechanical problem that I need to figure out how to live with. Maybe a small piece of Velcro will do the trick. -
Yea, that wouldn't bother me too much if I got that kind a deal. I will say that I have tried velcro in the past, and it wouldn't shut flush because the velcro was too thick. this actually annoyed me more than the original issue...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Since Tony has a man crush on you, I bet you could convince him to come over and hold it closed for you.
He might want to wear something "inappropriate" while he does it, but everything has its price! -

I wouldn't go with velcro for the reason rooftop describes. Two pieces of velcro are going to be too thick and it won't shut all the way. I'd try Ken's suggestion of magnet tape first.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.
