Center speaker match for LSi9

Options
I bought 4 x LSi9 and 1 x LSiC for my surround system and couldn't be happier. Now I am into a new home and the layout doesn't allow me to use the LSiC. I have a wall mounted LCD and there is not enough depth to make a hole in the wall to put the LSiC (the LSiC is 9" deep). I do not want to get rid of the LSi9s as they are wonderful speakers with great imaging.

What do you suggest to use as center channel to match timbre and all the other stuff you guys typically recommend matching?. Does any Polk sound bar would work? Is there any other channel less "deep" that Ic could use? (By the way I already have a sub).

Looking forward to your comments.

Alex

Tough one, the LSIc is already fairly shallow compared to other centers. Size it up against a CSiA6 for instance...

Polk makes an inwall center with the ring radiator tweeter I think.

Not so sure those small centers will do the accompanying LSI9's justice. If I was the OP, I'd try going no center first and see how I liked it.

Just make sure you adjust the settings in the receiver to accommodate that.

  • Thanks for the comments. I reviewed several forum posts about "no center" vs "yes center" speaker and I still believe that despite the great imaging of the LSi9s, a center speaker for voice is a must.

Then that LSi voice matched 255c-LS is your only hope. It will be interesting to see how it works out.....it looks like they all have 5-1/4" woofers....so no mismatch there.
