Bummer of a day for me :(

Something I don't think I would want to watch live footage of the probing . I got up took the second bottle of the Suprep ( yuck ) I don't think I will ever eat or drink anything that tastes like lemon again. We got a 1/4 inch of ice now it's a snow ice mix if They close due to Inclement weather I will be pretty upset.

So easy on the eats is what you all recommend, no blooming onion a big steak and a beer then, pancakes wow I will be able to put down a couple of stacks of those then again due to lack of sleep and the anesthesia I will be lucky to use a fork, lots of good advice from a lot of you grizzled veterans thanks.

He will be just fine, since he is doing what he has to do to protect his health. He will wake up not knowing he even fell asleep, then go out and treat himself to a good meal.

Well the procedure was definitely better than the prep a cute little nurse got me prepared wheeled me in the room met the Doc the first 10 minutes of the anesthesia was very relaxing was enjoying it then boom lights out it was over apparently a 5mm polyp was found and removed they didn't seem to make a big deal out of it. They gave me a Pepsi escorted me and the wife to the car and told no limitsuch on what to eat so the wife treated me to are favorite watering hole for our favorite giant pork tenderloins. No beer only pop and I tell ya tried putting a whole tenderloin down just couldn't do it, usually I have no problems. It's over so much for the worries.

Glad everything went well for you. Everyone else take notice, he's young, they found a polyp in him. Get scoped if you're over 50! I lost my father to this. Good looking chow. Get some sleep tonight.

I have had two now @55. Amazing the percent of people who never get one done! So simple and easy . Not much to it. Drove myself home after waiting two hours in recovery. Peace. D

You guys are killing me, had my annual physical in October, and since I turn 50 in January he told me to make plans in 2016 for a colonoscopy..

I didn't get general, I watched the whole thing on TV with about 8 students. I was so loaded I didn't care about anything. If I saw them sticking a shovel up my butt I would not have flinched.

I had one, same as you,just one polyp they said nothing to worry about.

I stayed awake the whole tim, for one second I felt like I had moderately bad gas when they turned a corner.

Never ever spend one minute of hesitation before getting one.

A few years ago, I had three colonoscopies in a 36-hours period as a result of a serious gastrointestinal problem the docs were trying to diagnose.

No big deal, and it may help keep you stay alive longer to listen to good music.

I hope it goes (or went) well for you.

Eating food like in the pictures will definitely require a regular yearly colonoscopy.

Cathy one was the Wife's and one was mine she never finishes hers and I usually have no problem putting one down but I was still groggy from the anesthesia so it's the first time I've never put a whole one away along with a pitcher of beer but today my eyes were bigger than my stomach at least I got lunch tomorrow. I wish you luck on your next one!!

I agree with you Scott being hesitant at first getting it done , now that it's over I'm glad I did do it.

Glad to see everything worked out okay. I had one for the first time this summer. I went conservative with the food afterwards and had pancakes.

Not so sure I'd want to see a video of my colon. I used to swallow coins to throw up on purpose and stay home from school. Once I swallowed a quarter and threw up 2 dimes and a nickel. Might even find a test paper in there graded a big fat F from the 60's.

Glad it went well for you. Some of those polyps can develop into real badness in the future. Did they give you the pathology report on it yet?

I couldn't possibly agree more. I lost a relative a few months ago to colon cancer after an over 10-year battle with it. He had had multiple surgeries, many rounds of chemotherapy and reports that it had been taken care of, only to recur, more than once. His last days were not pretty and were spent in great agony. He left a wife, two sons and a grandchild on-the-way behind...

Went thru the colonoscopy about 18 months ago. The liquid blowout/jello diet is definitely the worst, though the amount of blowout that is required now is only half of what it used to be when I worked in my father's pharmacy. On the plus side, I found my system digested better after all was said and done.

It's a little unnerving when relatives from the Boston area call you up wondering what these "WANTED" posters all over town with your picture on them is doing on all the telephone poles. Some with a dead cat nailed to them too.

Sorry to hear about the procedure you have to endure to the OP. I'm one to fall in that camp of if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That said, obviously if something is wrong or you feel something isn't right, get your arse to the doc. It's my understanding that colonoscopy has come a long way since the days of using Gerbils with a go-pro on their head. Good luck to you.

I agree Tony, if aint broke, then don't fix it.

Only problem with colon cancer is that if you wait till you have symptoms, it's usually too late.

So, this is one of those cases where you gotta be proactive and get those screening tests.
