For sale, Chane A3rx-c towers and A2rx-c center. Just purchased in Nov 2015. Great condition and good sounding speakers. These have some hours on them and have opened up. So no need to wait for the after break-in fun to begin! The Mrs. loves the look and sound of these but some LSiM's popped up at a nice price. Therefore, I'm moving on.

Pickup in NW Indiana or shipped to the lower 48 states. I have the original boxes.

Asking $600 firm + Shipping & PayPal fees.

If you can work that in let me know... Drinks/snacks on me of course .... and you could hear my monster sub I might be putting on the market too....

Or I could trade you my RTA11TL's for these hehehehe (jesting, your speakers are worth more than mine by far).

Well, I have a set of LSiM703's and a LSiM706c coming. Would be cool to to do some stereo listening with the 703s, A3's, and the LSi15's... These Chanes, really like power! :)

Your welcome to bring those down too, though I dont have stands (unless we put them on top the speakers)...

Yeah, the high cost for nice stands thing is what turned me off on bookies....would rather just do towers. However, my DIY budget audio self decided that I would either make some PVC/MDF sand filled ones that look like this:
    902439da5b655ca0b87de666dc9127a8.jpg

or buy a very affordable set of the Swan Diva stands at $99 bucks.

IMO, a low resonate MDF stand might be a better bet then a cheap metal stand that can't be filled. I plan to find out...no time to make anything.

Yep still here....maybe I will get to a point where I have some time and you can take a listen. When I can I've been listening back and forth to the 703's. Here are some pics from X-mas time.

I've always wanted the LSiM set up, but I couldn't afford it. So I went with the Arx/Chane.

    Any noticeable sound difference?

Well, the first obvious thing is the efficiency difference. The Chane's want more power. I had to turn the volume up a bit to get them to liven up in comparison. The next obvious thing is the low end on the 703's. I think both are rated to about the same 3dB down point but the 703 sound a little fuller. This relates also to the overall spectrum of sound. The 703's are a little more "full" in presentation. The Chane's and sound a little recessed at times. The Mid/tweet combo on the Chane's is really nice and balanced....I would say more neutral than the 703's. The 703's can really make some recording sound a little bright...they are more sensitive to the quality of the content.

OTOH, the sound of the Chane's can be really polite at times.....I mean I had my AVR at 80%-90% and there was none of the breakup you get sometimes with conventional tweeters. I really need a 200 watt per side amp to really see what the Chane's can do.....as well as a decent 2 ch setup to see what more there may be from both these sets.

For HT with a sub or two, a full Chane set is a super value. The sound is very easy to listen to and the basic looks of them really help them visually disappear in the room so the eyes can focus on the screen.

Now asking $500 for the set + Shipping/PayPal fees! One last try before I decide to just keep them.

Great price! If I had space (or money) I would be debating snagging these from you.....

Hey brother, did ya sell the Chane speakers yet? I read you don't want to, so not getting anything but info from ya. My RT2000i's are not cutting it for movies, ( blowing tweeters, snap crackling, popping, so snooping around to see if the chanes are as good sounding as the RT2000i's were when the Polks were good they were great!! Thanks and hope all is well.

    Johnny,

That's the reason I sold my RT5000 set. I did my share of replacing tweeters, repairing amps, fixing crossovers, etc. That set has 7 tweeters, 10 woofers, 6 subs, 3 amps, and 5 crossovers. Many of the drivers are not available and those that are, like the tweeters, are pricey. So, I got them working 100% and sold them for about what I put into them. It was a good time to move on.

My goal was to find more detail than what I was getting from the Polks I had (RT600-I still have these in my basement workout system, RT800i, RT5000). That's just what I got with the Chanes. I consider them more refined and articulate. IMO, the Chanes:

    1) Do need good power and can play pretty loud without strain or harshness.

    2) Don't have the big bass of the amplified Polks. The bass is tight and controlled and goes low enough for most music. In comparison, the LSiM703's had more bottom end punch. If one has a sub/s then its a moot point.

    3) Are a great neutral speaker to play in an all-in-one video/music system. They can be listened to all day without fatigue. The planar "Goes There" into the sparkle and air territory without too much attention. The mids are controlled and have low distortion and play "Bigger" than one would think a 5 1/4" mid can play. Very neutral with voices, instruments, etc.

    4) Not the best I've heard in therm of the "Disappearing Act" but they do pretty darn good with imaging and staging.

    5) At the given price they are a great choice! IMO, speakers are like flavors....the Chane set adds another high performing flavor in the under $300 each speaker market.

Overall, I think this reviewer summed up much of what I found the speakers to be:
    https://forums.audioholics.com/forums/threads/arx-a3rx-c-review.89786/

Also, here is what the previous gen A5's did against some stiff competition:
    http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/home-audio-speakers/69689-arx-a5-speakers-chosen-best-speaker-8-speaker-evaluation.html

The sound and performance of the Chane set and the LSiM sets have added fuel to my quest to build a set of high end speakers. The planar tweeters, 3-way design with detailed midrange, and slamming midbass all have confirmed what I already have been gravitating towards. A BIG 3-way WMTMW design with a ribbon tweeter, sweet mids, and slamming 8 inchers, the Statement II design: http://speakerdesignworks.com/Statement_II_1.html

These things are 60" tall but there's a guy that redesign them down to a 50" tall curved design: http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthread.php?42607-Statement-II-The-Remix/page4

Another great looking build here: http://imgur.com/gallery/VruD8

That's where I'm headed at some point....its going to take money and time to get there...All which I have very little of.....LOL! In the end, I'll be all set as far as speakers for years to come.
