?? mixing replacement woofers on a model 10 ??

replacing two mid/woofers on a pair of model 10s -- one in each speaker is shot. the original woofers are unknown but close to the 6500/6503 continuum (photos are in a different thread I posted). the incoming replacements are 6503s.
here's the question: should I put a new 6503 in each speaker, alongside the original driver, or should I put both original drivers in one speaker, and put both 6503s in the other speaker?
