I'm in the same boat, Dave. Spent about three years on the Emerald Isle. We're a hoot when the spirits flow. -

Canvas collars only mitigate mechanical vibration transmission. You'll need Sound Traps or Duct Silencers to reduce the type of noise transmission you have.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Thanks, I'll look into those. Hopefully there is something like that readily available here in Canada. The exchange rate is killing me.lsim705,lsim706c,lsif/x(4)+mc80(atmos)

If you have a tin knocker in your area, they can make them up. They won't be certified, but they'll work just as well.Home Theater/2 Channel:

The "Master Handbook of Acoustics" by F. Alton Everest has a short chapter on heating systems. This book has been around for a long time and many public library's have or can get a copy.

You can always unplug the fridge,
Yup, sure can......just be sure you plug it back in. ...
Not stereo related, but I needed the outlet in my work area for the vacuum one day, unplugged the deep freezer because I was only going to be cleaning for a few min... finished vacuuming and headed out for the day.
Well, about 5 days later on a Friday before work, I was moving a few things around and noticed a plug end on the floor. My common sense told me not to open the lid and refreeze everything, but curiosity got the best of me and there it was, a liquid brown and red pool of the most horrific stench I've ever encountered...lol, I can think of maybe one thing that could top it.
It was packed with veggies, beef, of course about 8 pounds of striper, nice and prepped, all red trimmed, ready for the grill.....:)...wedding topper cake.....yikes.
The few moments the lid was open was enough to engulf the entire house in a funk all day . I bought 2 respirators and my buddy and I unloaded everything that night into bags.
So, don't forget to plug the fridge back in....
