As seen in a post today at audiokarma; not sure if this was known to any or all here (or if it is of any interest, truth be told).

I have always been perversely fascinated with the Model Nine :- )
I actually have a pair of the somewhat later Monitor Series Model 9A; same basic design but using a proper tweeter (the Peerless silk dome) and electronic crossover instead of a "free range" Motorola piezo. I actually think they sound pretty darned good; I've always liked those CTS 4-1/2" pincushion frame "fullrange" drivers, I'll readily admit.
The video (and the AK thread) is about the original Nine, though. I haven't heard a pair of those in decades, so I really cannot at this late date say anything intelligent about how they might compare to the 9A.

Thanks for sharing Mark. I would love to get my ears on some 9's. Its hard to tell what they really sound like without being there. I myself dont desire alot of bass. Good video..

Nice to see some Model 9's in operation. Can't discern anything regarding SQ from You Tube. The dude is wearing panty hose and skinny jeans. It's PFB?

I like them -- I have a small stash down da basement.
Huge magnets on them (given the size of the driver).
The 9As are impressively sensitive; SE 2A3 drove them respectably well, if memory serves.
The 9As are buried deep downstairs (they got brought up here early on in the slow transition from MA to NH). I ought to dig them out again some time...
