Lew, do you upload photos from a saved folder on your computer, or directly from the camera? My Kodak is a bit twitchy in that respect.

  • How old is the camera??
"if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!

  • Some sites want a link to an online sharing or storage site as opposed to accepting direct image or video downloads. You can try setting up on one of the photo sharing sites then linking to the images.

Many sites either cannot or will not deal with the data burden of direct downloads. Hope this helps.
  • Dave, 1st I do u/l from the camera itself .Once the camera is recognized by the computer it always goes through unless I change sites.
THJ I don't know how old it is but it sure has a boatload of features I;ll never use. E-Bay complete kit w charger extra battery instructtion books and carry case
Steve-I used to use Photo-Bucket when we had the older format here. Ever since then it readily took and uploaded my pictures.
About that booklet maybe I'll call Cannon today. Thanks for the info.

  • Photo Bucket was popular. Picassa is another one that comes to mind. I am not a fan of the sharing sites for anything other than snapshots as the fine print in their user agreements claim full use rights and in some cases ownership of any stored images.
  • Well I did call Cannon and basically they said if it took the picture and went through and then did not it's in your computer and they could not help at all. My bro-inlaw is an I/T guy and sweeps my machine every 6 months or so. Maybe it's time to do it again. Doc Hardy uses Flikr still to this day for all his pics.

Lew, I always pull the photos off the camera to a temp photo folder, by cutting and pasting. With my Kodak, it must be done within the same Windows Explorer "window".
I can then move or manipulate them any way I want.
You might also try a different Web Browser. Internet Explorer has issues with some sites, Firefox and Chrome less so.

  • Dave remember your talking to a computer moron here. I ditched Internet Explorer about a year a ago and use Mozilla. Making files and more advance stuff cake to you is way over my head. I just don't get why it works then change to another site and it's blocked. I need a smoking hot college chick for some instruction.

Maybe your computer is outdated ?

I have a Cannon sureshot, I downloaded the software that came with the camera. Transfers to the 'puter easy peasy and windows 7 can store it in a folder. Simply browse the folders for the pic to add to any post.

You have to tell the computer what to do with anything you download.

Some burn-in time required maybe? :)
  • Tony,You think my machine is a tad old. It's a 23 y/o Gateway w/ a new hard drive. Already your computer speak is no where to be found in this simple mind. I need an instructor here and now. I also d/l the Cannon software suite and it worked great until this sheet happens. When I plug the mini USB into the camera the machine acknowledges it very quickly. I don't think it's the age of the machine. I'm just stupid. I have no idea to get from my pictures in my machine to E-MAIL or some other site or person and that's just the begining. Oh woe is me.

  • MY bro-in law put in Windows 8 I think and I 86d Internet Explorer for Mozilla Firefox. Yes it's time but again cash is the issue and even though you see me spend $50/$60 here and there and do mods w/ payments which are between me and the people I do business with. A few hundred at one time is out of the question. The guy I bought the rack from had like 40 sets of speakers m10s and Time Frame 600s,Klipsh, and if cash was flowing I would have jumped on one pair. The machine it'\self is very fast, rarely goes down and besides the camera issue there are no problems a moron like me can see.
