Other treads made me think !!!! Right now im powering Lsi7's with Carver avr100 & it really really sounds sweet. Well im getting ready to upgrade my CRS+'s & tl them. I have never tried the crs+'s on the Carver & i sure hope it will happen. I know the Carver is 150wpc & plenty for me. I just want to make sure they will match together. I did some research 1-1 1/2 years ago on the receiver & there isnt much out there & i dont own the manual. I tried to get on Carver site & i gave up because it was confusing. Any thoughts on this Carver paired with CRS+'s ? Any & all feedback would be helpful. TIA

They don't have that one"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
Thanks for looking. I had same problem. I shoulda bought one on the bay awhile back. I will look over there. Thanks..

I see service manuals. Im pretty sure the Carver will handle 6ohm speakers. I had a heck of time getting remote for it. I ended up with Logitech Harmony vs 80.00 for 20+ y/o remote..

Randy, the Carver Sales Brochure only gives an 8 ohm ratings for the AVR 100. In their stock form, your CRS+s are 6 ohm nominal, however the new Crossovers come with a #14 gauge sub bass drive inductor. They'll be 4 ohm once installed, and will drop below that at certain frequencies. The Carver may or may not be able to cope with that kind of load.Home Theater/2 Channel:

So I looked one other place (that I cant get to if using a tablet or my phone) on that website and found a copy of your owners manual.

See if that answers any questions you have on the model. Otherwise the normal place I looked didn't have anything else."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Looking at the Pdf, you should not have an issue running 4 ohm speakers. I had a Carver HR742 and was able to run it with a set of Magnepans without issues.

Thanks guys. I will look that over. WCS i will add a amp &or maybe buy a Carver amp as i like the Carver..

Glad to help out. I'd make sure to download your own copy for reference
I'm a geek about manuals. I find em for all the stuff I own as well as service manuals if I can. They've come in handy once or twice I must admit.

I agree. I searched 'i thought pretty hard' with no luck. I bookmarked it. Thanks. I like knowing info on stuff i got also. When i got my first Carver avr-100 i researched unit & read all the reviews 'which were not all the greatest' when i got home i hooked'r up & was amazed. Probably one of the best receivers ive heard on 2 channel with certain speakers. It was missing a knob & i couldnt find one. I ordered a odd ball one & over time i got different gear & someone offered me 125.00 for it. I paid 10+15.00 for knob on the bay. 100.00 profit. So away it went.... Then i traded a 2channel receiver for a Pioneer 521k & i decided to get back into HT & i hooked the Pioneer to Paradigm M7v3's & very disappointed after 1week or so. I knew it wasnt the speakers. So i got on the bay & found another avr100 Carver for 120 or so in super condition & i jumped on it. I knew the Carver would sound much better & sure enough it did.... Then i got the Yamaha rxv1500 & Lsi7 deal & sold off the ex-amp & Elan fan. So i ended up moving gear around again. Phew im getting better at hook'n n unhook'n. Threw the Carver on the Lsi7's with Polk rm6750 sub & boy those little guys impress i like the Carver sound. I have a friend who has separates & others here who enjoy Carver Amps & i gotta say they are great. I may add a Carver amplifier to it & bring it up a notch & make it match brand wise..... Since i joined this forum ive experienced a fair amount of gear & learned alot along the way. Ive had quite a bit of help too. Its been fun guys..

Randy ,this might be a little late but what do you think of the Carver 4000 pre/amps or the older Phase Linear w/ the joystick. That thing always fascinated me but then again how often would you use something like that.

I think those are just preamps. If anything i will use the receiver as a pre & add a amplifier to the mix. Here is a local Phase https://maine.craigslist.org/ele/5268002330.html..

After reading up on those i think id go different Carver amp though..
