Using my B&K AV5000 for two channel duty?

Changing living room set up from five channel to two channel only. Living room is rather small- 12' x12'. I have many pairs to choose from for speakers til I upgrade. Rti 12, Monitor 70, Monitor 10 , Monitor 7, or SDA2a. Marantz SR6001 with pre outs . How can I hook up my five channel amp to two speakers? If this is not a good ldea? I have a few other dedicated two channel amps .i could sell the AV5000 because it is not a good fit in main HT 7.1 system. As always, thanks for any help. Merry Christmas. Peace. D

What other choices do you have? As avr's go I respect the B&K brand, having said that, a dedicated 2 channel amp would be better ( all things being equal ) but hook it up to the front mains and set it up in 2 channel stereo and see if it is satisfing to you. A B&K 2 channel amp of the same power would be a better choice imho.

    Parasound HCA1500A biamped to lows

    Perreaux SA33 class A preamp
    AQ kingcobra ic's
    OPPO 83 CDP
Lehmann audio black cube SE phono pre, Audioquest phono wire (ITA1/1)
Denon DP-1200 TT. AToc9ML MC cart.
    Monster HTS 3600 power conditioner
    ADS L1590/2 Biamped

Just because it's a 5 channel amp doesn't mean you have to use all 5 channels.

I already have the B&K and thought since I am not using it in the 7.1 HT setup . I could run two channels of the five @ 105 w to the top two terminals on M70's and run two to the bottom two terminals. I just do not know if this is beneficial or how to run the IC 's from four connections on Marantz pre to four on B&K? Thanks. D

You need signal splitters to do that for each channel, and extra rca cables.
Beneficial ?? Only one way to find out.

Once you start adding in the costs of the extra cabling, IMHO it would be better to sell it and snag a 2 channel B&k in the 200 watts per range.

Have you tried running it straight into your M70s, without bi-wiring?

He wants to bi-amp, not bi-wire, 2 separate things.
