Guys,

I know there are a lot of computer experts here - what is the best internal solid state hare drive, looking at 1 or 2 TB.

Going in a Dell M6800 mobile work station. I get a lot of models for parts and tooling and it eats up space quickly.

I may be wrong but I think on a internal SSD on the 2TB Samsung is the only one at the moment. That is on a 2.5" format for laptops.

Samsung EVO 850 or PRO. I just installed a 500GB EVO 850 SSD on my ThinkPad and it is very fast. Samsung EVO comes with 3D V-NAND Technology and software to "speed it up" even more (maximum performance and RAPID mode).

I'm not a computer expert but, IMHO, this SSD made the most significant difference in the overall speed of my machine.

For that big I would get 2 regul drives and mirror them in case one fails. It would still be 1/2 the price of a ss version for that size. Im sure in a couple of years the bigger ss drives will come down in price bit when you can get a 2-3 tb toshiba drive for 70-90$ each, it doesnt make sense to go for a 2 tb ss drive.

Heck 4 500 gig ss would be cheaper also!.
