Found monitors
New to forum. Just found a pair of Monitor Series 2 M5 my wife received as a gift from her brother years ago (they have been in storage). They have been hardly used and in very good condition. I am presently planning on setting them up in a new system I am building. Considering using them with an NAD C326BEE Integrated amp and am looking into what may be the best fit for a powered subwoofer within the current Polk lineup. I will likely be playing mostly FLAC files input into the NAD from a personal MP like the Sony A17 and this is a mid-size home living room. Any opinions on the best Polk sub for this setup?

You may want to listen to your setup first. My story is similar to yours, as I "found" some series 2 Monitor 7's I'd had in storage for 15+ years. I recently set them up with new integrated amp (Yamaha), CD player and turntable. They sound perfect without a sub, and remind me of my listening experience during my first run with 2 channel (70's / 80's).
I can't imagine my HT setup without a sub, but not sure I'd be as happy with my 2 channel experience with one.

Welcome to CP. The Monitor 5s are excellent for most types of music. Depending on the size of the room, and your own listening tastes, they may be fine just as they are. The -3db is in the mid 40s, so a quality sub will fill in the last octave, especially if you prefer a lot of bass, especially deep bass. As mentioned, set them up, and see how they sound. If you do like them, I'd also consider upgrading the tweeters. The Series 2s should have SL2500s. Polk makes the RDO-198-1 Silk Dome, which is a drop-in replacement, and vastly superior to the SL2500. The crossovers are also easy to upgrade as well.Home Theater/2 Channel:
