  • Congrats on a great buy! I have 2 sets of LsI9s that I have modded in a similar fashion. One pair with nicer caps and one pair with more modest caps than the fortress mod. I did not change inductors. I often have my modded 9s on the stands over the LsIM703s in the same room. I know this is not the consensus so I look forward to your impressions. Nice job to Mikey for making such a deal available.

Unfortunately I have never heard the LSiM so I can't compare. Right now I am running nht m5s with a mirage sub and it is a pretty great setup, especially for what I paid (the m6 system, the satellites of which are virtually identical to the m5s, received a "class a" from stereophile fwiw). I am hoping the lsis have enough bass to run full range so I can use the sub just LFE. Either way I'm excited to try em out!

Just wanted to add that these are great sounding speakers, even before Trey's Mods. I paid more than this just for the mods to my LSi9's and would do it again in a heart beat. I'm never getting rid of mine...

just picked these up from the UPS distribution center. First off, packing job was awesome. Nothing was gonna damage these bad boys. Second, they are in excellent shape. I just been listening for a few minutes, and they are very different than what they are replacing, so I need to give them more time. But I say damn these have serious bass, especially in a small room. I really don't need a sub for most popular music. And I have always really like the tweets on these.

I will give a better review when I have some serious time to spend with them, probably over thanksgiving break.

    Thanks again Mike!
