Slight little story here:: i decided to sell off 1 of many r2r's last week. I posted it local & within 1 hour i had 3-4 responses & the one & only person who did as the ad stated was Tim Sample. Tim is a Maine Humorist & ive listened to him for years & always enjoyed him. He is on ''Bert & i'' Maine Humor & goes all over. Well i met Tim Sample & his wife in Brunswick Me at the ''mall'' which is on Main St downtown 5 years ago or so. Super nice people. Both were on their motorcycles & we talked for about 45mins or so & off we went..... Well Last week we talked on phone & he said he wanted the r2r & asked if i could hold it till next week (which was today) i emailed the others back & said it was on hold & will be sold. Needless to say i got offers 50.00 over the amount stated & i never responded...... Today i took the day off & spent it with my lovely daughter Rebecca & i have inflicted her by making her listen to ''Bert & i'' for YEARS & hearing me laugh. Well today Rebecca got to meet Tim near the highway & we talked for 20mins before even looking at the r2r. He remembered me from years ago & we both aged LOL & he joked around with Rebecca & that made my day. I had brought alot of my vinyl albums & cassettes i still have from years ago of his & Bert & i. Stand up guy. I really had a vvvgreat day. To me this would be right up there with meeting someone like Ozzy. N Young. Or any other person i like alot. Thats how my day went :)81u4z8cna5tn.jpeg

    I'm just imagining a guy with a deep Brooklyn accent trying to communicate with one of my Maine neighbors with an equally deep Mainer accent!

    Pretty neat, Randy! Not many will be familiar with Tim's Maine-centric humor, and, to be honest, I don't get 100% of it either since I'm not a true Mainer. But I do enjoy Tim's rants.

    There is also Bob Marley (yeah, that's right, in addition to the father of Reggae, there is a comedian with the same name from Maine). Perhaps I've been in Maine too long? It's always been difficult for me to wax nostalgic about N.E. since I'm really from elsewhere, and even after two decades up here I still don't quite feel "at home"? Not that the people aren't great, they are.

    I'm from Western Mass, but lived and worked in NYC for 20 years. My Ex and here family still have the Brooklynese, even though most are in Florida now.
    Randy's definitely Maine, but I'm not Bahston. We have a very mild northeast accent.

    Cnh ive seen Bob 3 times. Great comedian. Ya dont have to be from here to enjoy them. They just add this & other states to their lines. Maine being the''Vacation Land'' to me is a joke. Now when you enter it say ''Open for Business'' that just pizz's me off'' I go to upstate NY & love it. Once being a over-the-road long haul trucker driver i enjoy each & every state. People make fun of NJ & i cant name enough places i like about that state & the people are nice. I have peace in me where i look at it this way ''we all live together-why not be respectful'' Give me the finger-i wave back :)
