HDMI Cable Issue

Awhile back my HT starting doing something annoying while switching channels on the DVR box....a pretty long video lag and the hourglass icon appearing after switching channels. While the hourglass goes, the PJ rolls through the deal where its checking all the inputs until the hdmi is recognized again. Not the end of the world, but annoying. My guess is the Monoprice between the DVR and receiver....thoughts?

This is exactly why I refuse to buy anything from Monoprice or any other online wire company. Why go though failure, buy from trusted companies the are known to NOT fail.

I suggest the Forest level HDMI. They are rock solid and can go 20m with NO failures. Spend the extra money on this cable and it will be the last one you buy.
I suggest re wiring your entire HDMI rig with Audioquest Forest level cables.

I hear what you're saying. I bought an HDMI off amazon. when it arrived al seemed good well built and only lasted one week. I'm going to be looking at some better cables.

Sewell HDMI are also rock solid. Nothing against audioquest at all just another option.
Sewell direct . com. I have used their better cable for years with zero problems.

I have not seen any of these on line cables work out. I have had clients over the years buy different brands online and all I have seen is failure. It would be nice to be able to buy very affordable cables online and have them work for years and years.
You get what you pay for and thats pretty true in HDMI cables. You can go way over board as I don't see any benefit or need. I do video systems in the upwards of 100K for a screen and projector and we don't run multiple thousands of dollar cables.
This is why I feel the Forest is a superior cable for cost benefit ratio. Even the Pearl is a very high quality cable. The Forest is just a bit better as they use Silver plating.
Also other brand cables that are well respected in the cable world I have seen HDMI failures. Poor quality terminations and out of the box not working at all. It's like quality control is mis handled on HDMI cables as most of these higher end cable companies have been building cables for decades yet can't seem to build a proper HDMI cable.
My loyalty with Audioquest goes back over a decade due to the fact to this date I have yet to see a broken out of the box cable of any kind or one that failed in the field. I have seen them out perform the competition at the same price or over and that speaks volumes to me.
So my advise with HDMI cables is Audioquest. Buy anything else at your own risk.

I found some Forest on Amazon with the white jacket on the actual run....how can I tell these are legit....or is there a preferred seller you would recommend....
