Bryston 4BSST

I have the chance to buy one locally but when it turns on, there is a low steady humming sound coming from the speakers, lasts about a minute then slowly fades out and then sounds good. The seller said he that he thought it was the speakers, but now we know that it's the amp. He had another set of speakers we dragged in the the room where the amp was set up and turned the amp on again to the same humming noise. The hum seemed to last a little longer this time but it did fade away. Is that probably an easy fix?? If so, I'll probably grab it..?? Help!!

Call Bryston......sounds like a power supply issue, maybe a cap going.

I agree. If it is is both speakers then most likely a power supply issue. Also sounds like a cap is slowly on its way out.

Interesting though cause a quick look at some specs and evidence says it is dual mono with dual power supplies.

Gonna have to agree again with above. Call them up. Unfortunately might be a good amount of change to ship and fix
