Monitor 10A tweeters.{"dim" sounding}

Hey Guys I just got a hands on what seems like a hard to find NOS peerless tweeter a week ago. I plan on replacing the one I originally started this thread about (being dim sounding) this weekend. I cant wait. Plus since I've been looking for replacement tweeters and reading other folks threads about refurb. projects I have entertained the idea of trying it out myself. I have been tossing around ideas now for a couple of weeks. . I'll keep you all posted.

Update: So I have soldered in the replacement peerless and I'm having a blast breaking it in. Also in the process I removed all the drivers and polished the cabinets, not to mention I power grabbed the magnets so that there is no risk of them shifting anytime soon. Shall we call this a sympathetic "refurb"? Now I'm considering a better method of mounting the drivers to the cabs and replacing the sealer foam that's between the speakers and the cabs. . Can you guys help me with some mounting ideas?

I have the same thing going on with a pair of Monitor 5A right now. They sound so dim compared to a pair of Monitor 5jr with RDO194 in them. I recently picked up a pair of Moniotr 4 Peerless and they sound so much more open and clear than the 5A. BTW I rebuilt the crossovers in the 5A and it didnt make any diff. Tonight I swapped the tweeters between the 5A and 4 and no difference in sound. WTH??!!
