I have fixed my problem with standing waves, but still haveing trouble with slap echo. I ordered some acoustic tiles from Partsexpress maybe this will help. Where is a good place to start with in my room? The mirror method, placeing the tiles to the sides I behind the spks & tv. My room a concrete floor with heavey padded carpet, & panel walls thanks

After you do the first and second reflection points on the walls try the ceiling as well.Graham

You might want to try a couple of 2'x4' accoustic ceiling tiles behind your speakers as well. If there's no improvement your only out a couple of bucks.

Thanks everyone! The mirror method is when you see the spk at your favorite spot in the mirror right? Would I place treatment above the spk on the ceiling? My HT set-up Panasonic front proj, 120 in ws screen, ATI amp,Integra 9.8 pre-pro, 2 Polk rti150, cp 1000, 4 fx 1000, Pioneer blu-ray 2 SVS sub pb 12-ultra 2, & Paragon popcorn popper. ps 3 Coaster leather HT recliners.

You get someone else to move the mirror while you are in the listening position. You put the treatments at the points of reflection when you can see the speakers in the mirror, same for the ceiling. You can also try behind the speakers as Frank said.Graham

Consider using blue-tac for preliminary placement of the tiles.More later,

Couple tiles on the wall BEHIND the speakers (in between and/or above). Couple tiles on the side walls, halfway between you and the speakers. Last, a couple behind the listening area (ie, your head).
If your head is damn near at the rear wall - don't worry about the rear wall, spend the money on more damping for the sides and front. As a general rule, the 2nd reflection (off the wall behind the speakers) is the first to tackle - then side walls, then rear.
