I have these both TV and not sure which to keep, any thoughts here would be a lifesaver.
Per my assessment:
Sharp....is sharper imagewise but SOE is notorious with fix via firmware upgrades. Has a power supply issue as well, couldn't turn it Off or On using remote or the button on the tv, must use the good old plug.
Vizio..........not quite impressive but reliable? I dont know. I just know that issue may arise after 1yr or 2yrs of use.
PLease advise POLKIES

Well, since you "have these both tv" i would suggest scrap them both and get something reliable....crisis averted!Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!

Out of these both TVs I'd think imagine keep the Vizio.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

That's a lot of scratch to spend on something ur not really satisfied with. I agree, return them both. Surely there are other 70 inch options? Heck, I would rather go down to 65 and have something I was really happy with.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
Game Room 5.1.4: Denon AVR-X4200w; Sony UBP-x700; Definitive Technology Power Monitor 900 mains, CLR-3000 center, StudioMonitor 350 surrounds, ProMonitor 800 atmos x4; Sub - Monoprice Monolith 15in THX Ultra
Bedroom 2.1 Harmon Kardon HK3490; Bluesounds Node N130; Polk RT25i; ACI Titan Subwoofer -
Agreed with the above comments.
I for one am not a fan of either company. Get rid of them both and get a Sony.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
If you want to go big TV's on the cheap, Visio is hard to beat, but you do get a cheaper set all around. Their top TV's aren't bad though. Sony or Samsung would be my preference in that order.
Since all TV's are going computer based, all TV's are going to come with glitches, firmware upgrades needed, etc. None are built to last anymore....which is depressing seeing what they cost these days. Sony and Samsung seem to have the better quality though if 3d is important to you, I think Samsung does it better than the Sony's. Sony however has the better picture but not by much. Both will upscale 1080p content to close to 4k resolution which is a big plus when done right .HT SYSTEM-

Speaking of 3D, does LG's 3D tv sets even compare to the Sony or Samsung 3D reproduction?

It's a crap shoot really. The higher end models usually do well with 3d across all brands. If your shooting for cheap though, that's what your gonna get.....along with motion blur, back light bleeding, quirky internet connections.HT SYSTEM-
