Its like Beatnicks were only faster. The forced Gangsta accent is especially amusing. Really, you could show these all night. There is probally not one that im gonna actually like. I appreciate the memorization skills and touching on social issues, but its damn painful to listen to. -
I gots many more:)

if anyone wants me I will be on youtube learning about breast feeding

oh and most rap sucks I do like a little of Tupac stuff though
-
I cant listed to Death Metal for more than five seconds before my eye starts twitching, but I love Bad Religion. Why? Its damn near as fast, but there are harmanizations and i can actually understand what they are saying. Their lyrics are clever and thought provoking and i can identify with them.
Much of the ryming in Rap is "stretched" to say the least. They come up with words that kinda rhyme, but make little sense in what their point is. Just hard to follow and makes them sound, well. Tacky. -

Dont hate me cuz ya aint me!

Conradicles has dishonored himself and dishonored the Polkies. I have tried to help him. But I have failed. I have failed because YOU have not helped me. YOU people have not given Conradicles the proper motivation! So, from now on, whenever Conradicles **** up, I will not punish him! I will punish all of YOU! And the way I see it ladies, you owe me for SEVEN MINUTES! NOW GET ON YOUR FACES! -

I'm sure glad I don't pre-judge a whole segment of music. I mean, I really don't like 80's music, but it gave me REM. Kind of close minded to say 'all rap sucks!'.
I don't own much in the way of hip-hop in the collection, but I have enjoyed it over the years. If you haven't explored a lot of early 90s hip-hop you - are - missing - out. Hell, all of the 90's, Kanye's first album was a game changer. Early Jay-Z is wildly talented, in his beats and lyrics. These guy's are just like ANY other musician, they write what they know about. So we segregate the schools they go to, give them the worst tools and teachers to learn with, and OF COURSE they are going to be putting out music that you guys are scared of. I'll say it again, they are writing what they know about, what they grew up with.
I'm fine with you guys not liking it, but to say it all sucks and it's bad for our kids, well come on, I would hope that most of us are smarter than that here. I don't hear the battle cry against violent video games here.
I'll leave you with this, just give it a chance.

That was terrible. Sorry, couldnt finish it.
again..just an opinion. Not my cup of tea but heart felt. Don't hate..appreciate D!
Not hating the motive, just the execution Johnny.
Just pulling your leg D! The message in most of the material is not positive, but I spin it to the comedy of it all! C wat I'm sayin' ??"if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!

I consider myself fairly open minded, but what passes for music (esp in the rap world) truly amazes me.............but, whatever gets you through the night is alright....is alright.Yep, my name really is Bob.
Parasound HCA1500A(indoor sound) and HCA1000(outdoor sound), Dynaco PAS4, Denon DP1200 w/Shure V15 Type V and Jico SAS stylus, Marantz UD7007, Polk L600, Rythmik L12 sub. -
Product of their environment. No different than 40s-50s-60s music talking about cruising down a highway in their convertibles, going to the prom and asking sweet Pea to dance. You can't blame them for singing about what its like to live during that time. Classic Rock sang about sex, drugs and peace, a reflection as to what was going on during that time.
Funny no one mentioned Public Enemy, pretty much along the same lines or Ice-T.
Country sings about broken down pickup trucks, their dog dying and how their girl got away all while drinking beer... it's what they know, how they live(d) a lifestyle.
During the true gangster rap there was lots going in in South Central. It was very much talked about and no one really wanted to venture in there (if they were from the outside).
I'm not saying I agree with how harsh they make their messages come across, but freedom of speech.

If your attitude, actions, values, morals, and behavior make your neighborhood shitety, and then you sing about, and glorify, what you have created to make money, why are you above criticism? Why should you be admired for being "authentic", especially when others have to live in the hellish conditions you created?
