First off, thanks to all the knowledgable folks that contribute here. This forum looks to be an incredible resource.
It has been 16 odd years since I made an effort to have a 'decent' vintage home stereo system.... ( on a budget...)
Three days ago... I picked up a nice set of Polk sda2 speakers at what I consider to be a stupid good price... When I bought them there was no IC cable, so I crudely made something that works... And... WOW... For me, this setup is fantastic... I will, over the next few months toy with proper upgrades, simply to have some fun and learn something along the way...
Thanks Mr. Polk! I am absolutely blown away and I think...
HOOKED!

Thanks!
Today I found a second identical pair on the cheap! The cabinets look a little cleaner, so they might be donors, or maybe I'll try for 4 of them in my basement music room!
I'm sitting here listening to Mark Knopfler like I've never heard him before...
Did I say WOW already?
Cheers!

Welcome to CP. You don't want two pairs operating simultaneously in the same room, unless you're doing a 5.1 setup. The Interaural Crosstalk Cancellation from each pair will interfere with the other pair.Home Theater/2 Channel:

I am new to the polk sda 2s as well I have had mine for 2 weeks and I love the sound. I will end my speaker hunt here, I went from white van speakers to pioneer cs-603 to cerwin vega d-9s and then to a pair of monitor 10s that I thought were amazing until I took the sda 2s home. I hope you enjoy your as much as I do.

SDA2 speakers are 4 Ohms. I know I'm not getting what I can out of them. Can anyone recommend a good receiver, easily attainable to properly power these speakers?

and dip lower than that no receiver will hold up to them for long...you will need an amp. Yes a receiver will make sound come out of them BUT you will blow tweeters and maybe blow drivers.
