New to me sda 2 I love the sound and build on these things. I notice when I turn the balance all the way to the left the right speaker is silent but when I turn it all the way to the right the left speakers far left upper tweeter and far left upper driver are still making normal sound. Could someone please advise if this is how they work and if this is the sda effect, when the volume is centered all drivers function fine and sound great. I have one week to return these if they are faulty. Thanks for this site I also have a pair of monitor 10s but they need new tweeters. Bob.

Welcome to CP. There's something wrong. When you turn the volume all the way to the right, the right inner tweeter and woofer should be working, and the left out tweeter and woofer should also, but at reduced volume. When you turn it all the way to the left the opposite should occur.
Double check that the interconnect cable is fully seated in both speakers, and that both are wired in phase from the amp.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Glad you're enjoying the vintage Polk sound. You can get new replacement tweeters for some Monitor 10s, depending on which model (10B, Series II, etc.) you have, directly from Polk's customer service. If you'd post a picture, we could tell you which tweeter model you have and if a new replacement is available. From Polk, you'll receive a discount and free shipping if you tell them that you're a member of Club Polk.
You can also shop eBay and similar sites for used replacement tweeters.

You're welcome. SDA2s are 4 ohm speakers. I'd advise not going crazy with the volume knob. Most receivers cannot supply enough current at 4 ohms, and will shut down if you're lucky. Some will clip, and damage the tweeters.Well first off thank you very much. I had the wires on the left channel from speaker positive to receiver negative and vise versa, man do I feel stupid but that awesome sound is back. I was going between 2 receivers and messed up. I am very new to this only 3yrs in so be patient with me please because I am loaded with dumb questions. I would like to find two new tweeters for my monitor 10s any info on that would also be a great help I really love the sound of those as well. Thanks again I really do appreciate it. Bob.
