My 9 month old computer has begun to suck so badly lately im about to take it to a computer shop, so I decided to reserve my FREE copy and see if anything works better.
I use this thing for the most basic functions imaginable and for the last 3 weeks or so its just limping along, so what the hell.

I updated a laptop to win10 and really like it. I still use mac for all my computer needs.

Lots of complaints about the 10 so far. I think I'll stick with 7 Premium. (for as long as it's supported)

Windows 10 offers me no advantages over Windows 7. So far I've installed it on two Laptops, and my main Workstation. The first Laptop was an older Dell Latitude. It ran fine, however NVidia does not have, and will not be releasing an updated video driver. Back to Win 7 on that one. The 2nd Laptop, a family friend's, is a 2 YO Toshiba with Win 8.1. it was slow as h e l l after the upgrade (it was slow before the upgrade). Even a clean install didn't help. I put her back on 8.1, and may downgrade her to Win 7, as she's hates 8.1, and is still having problems with the machine as a whole. I may talk her into a SSD to speed things up. On my main Workstation, Win 10 installed easily, but after two trial runs, the 1st for a half a day, and the second, two days, I'm back on Win 7. 10 offers me no advantages over Win 7. The GUI is childish and the "tiles", which are pinned to the start menu, are useless. Win 7 is polished, familiar, and does everything I ask of it without a hitch. I personally have no compelling reason to use Window 10. Microsoft has stated that Win 10 will never be finished. Upgrades will be installed in the background continuously. Driver issues and compatibility with older programs is nothing new when a new version of Windows is released. I do wish their "Upgrade Advisor" was a little more accurate. My Dell was supposedly a good candidate, but Microsoft failed to check if a video driver was available. They're touting the number of Windows 10 installs, but fail to mention how many have rolled back to their previous OS. Keep in mind, if you do the free upgrade, after 29 days, you will no longer be able to roll back to your previous Windows version. This is not universal, but does affect many users.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Thanx for that info, I should have mentioned we have 8.1, and have always liked our older machine better with 7.
One of the main problems im having is you tube or the blaze videos just wont work to any acceptable degree, its worrisome that your video was not covered by the new system.
BTW, what is an ssd.

SSD = Solid State Drive, as opposed to a slow mechanical drive. Laptop drives are very slow compared to a typical desktop drive.
Scotty, I'd be happy to look at it for you. Sounds like you have one or more programs starting with Windows, which slow things down, and most likely your Flash Player is corrupt, out dated or just not functioning. You may also have some malware on it that you're unaware of.
BTW, my Dell is like 6-8 years old. Got it used, with XP on it.Home Theater/2 Channel:
