<snip> Without amplification they filled a huge auditorium with the most beautiful singing. This combined with superb orchestras and amazing stage scenery shouldn't be missed if you get the chance.<snip>

Hello, Ken and good evening to you sir. This statement hits on something that I haven't had an exposure too. Perhaps this is why my mindset is what it is concerning this. What you said with the key words, "without amplification", made me think.

Perhaps one day if I have the chance, I'll entertain the thought. Just don't tell anybody I said that. *winks*

I appreciate the talent, but even with a collections of over 3500 album the closest thing that I have to opera is...Phantom of the Opera
:) LOL, I'm about the same. I have a music background and have played in different bands, orchestras in HS and college, and was even in the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra for a bit. I have much less than 3500 albums/CD's (I lost count at 500-600?) of all types of music but only have a handful of Opera tracks on some demo discs. OTOH, I absolutely love the music from the Phantom of the Opera musical. I've seen it live in Detroit and Toronto, watched the movie a bunch of times, watched the PBS specials, and have worn out the CD over the years. Heck, one of my favorite drum & bugle corps shows of all time is the 1989 Santa Clara Vanguard performing Phantom. I can listen to this over and over again....it never gets old!

The big push and company front at the end still gives me chills!
