original model 10 floor speakers

I have a pair of original model 10 (no suffix a, or b on the sticker on the back) floor speakers. I haven't used them in 30 years at least.
1) Is it safe to hook them up as is, to a Denon AVR X-4000 receiver or should the crossovers be replaced ? I can't rebuild them myself if needed. If they need new ones before I turn them on, where /who can do this ?
2) What model speakers do you suggest will work with these for center channel and rear surround ? I think my speakers are 6 ohm.
Thanks,

I'd think monitor 5jr. would fit both center and surround. Yes short answer xo should be recapped but you should be still able to use before you recap the xo.

It is (should be) safe enough -- one issue with the old Polks was that the adhesive holding the "midwoofer" magnets in place tends to get brittle and lose its grip (don't we all?) -- if the magnets shift (typically from getting knocked around) the drivers will freeze, and (of course) make no sound. Playing a speaker with (both) woofers frozen might (???) present an interesting load to an amplifier.

Push in the passive and see if the drivers push out, and go back in, if so hook um up, and give them a shot..
You can use 5's 7's or even 10's all around if you wanted.. -
Thank you, toolfan66 .

The 10's are not really floor speakers. They should be on stands to bring the tweeter up to ear level.Political Correctness'.........defined
