Oh, someone mentioned Prelude earlier. They had a minor hit in the 1970s with an a cappella cover of Neil Young's hauntingly beautiful After the Gold Rush. I've always loved it -- and, with the advent of Youtube, it became accessible again:

And... Here's another lost one-hit (barely) wonder from the same general era. Apparently this guy, Stu Nunnery, had a pretty significant career in Europe -- but I think in the US he's pretty well forgotten. I think this is a beautiful, and beautifully constructed, song.
