Entering the digital realms with a Pure I20 ios dock and a Peachtree DacIT with an Apple Tv

I was talking to a Peachtree rep about thier DacIT, when this little device cameup in the conversation, this dock has its own dac or I can hook it up via optical cable to the dac in my Marantz. I was told this dock is pretty impressive, since we have 3 iPods and a couple of I phone 4s laying around full of tunes might as well see how this performs.

Here is the Peachtree Apple Tv combo, with these 3 items and a laptop I think I would have a pretty good lock on getting my feet wet in the world of digital audio, the best thing is I think this will be a good set up for not that much coin, plus I have a few hundred worth of points built up from Amazon I could use towards this purchase. Does anybody have any of these items in thier 2 channel rig, and would these items be a step in the right direction?

Just ordered the Pure I20 to use as a transport to the DAC in my Marantz using a Wire World Nova optical cable along with it, I will get the Peachtree DacIT next month (fingers Crossed) the guy at Peachtree said the PURE I20 is pretty decent. I will report back in a couple days once my stuff shows up and it's hooked up.

Thanks Skip you know I had to use that Dac in my SA15S2B on something. I was suprised to hear the guy at Peachtree recommend this Pure I20, Peachtree also links it on thier website. I think for $99 lts worth a try plus it gets better reviews than the Cambridge Audio one or the Arcam one and those both go for $299. Mr Swauger could you please move this to the going digital part of the forum if possible thanks.

K, I don't get it...why do you need the Peachtree DAC when you have the high-end one in your new Marantz?

To hook a laptop up through it into my preamp the digital via optical in on the Marantz is for the Pure I20, unless somebody knows another way to hook up a laptop with out a SPDIF to the coaxial in to the Dac on the Marantz?

Steve can you hook up your laptop to the Marantz using the a USB cable type b ? and the laptop if running windows would just need to download the driver from marantz's website

The SA15S2B and the SA11S1 are the SACD players that don't have USB no biggie I have a laptop hooked up to my Oppo 105 via the USB B port, I just have a second laptop I will need a newer laptop with A SPDIF or the Peachtree, the Peachtree is the cheaper alternative.

ok yeah I did not know that. I had been using the DAC from my Peachtree Decco65 until I got the SACD player and switched to using its DAC...but now I'm moving it back into another room so I'm going to be reusing my Peachtree Decoo65 as my DAC for my PC's again.

I really like the DAC my Decco 65 has in it. and I have my Polk Monitor 4's hooked up to it for my PC speakers
