Thats a funny story indeed...! A little light on the truth though... a 7,100 cubic foot room, and they created enough pressure to blow a window :D

So....that was 13 years ago and hopefully by now he's learned that mass amounts of power and sticky fingers on the volume dial don't necessarily equate to better sound.

It does however equate to turning your tweeters into flame throwers, if that was the objective.....which by his post appears to be.

So he bridged four nice Carver Amps, ran them dual mono, connected to 6 ohm nominal speakers, that drop well below 4 ohms at certain frequencies....
    Priceless!

    Yes.
    Winners.

I would just love to know how a polyswitch can let through enough current to make the tweeter shoot two feet of flame and burn the grillecloth. First Guess: Total fabrication, lies from beginning to end. This bonehead didn't own ONE pair of 1.2TLs, never mind two pair powered by a thousand-plus watts--but he got positive attention in junior high for writing fiction.

I don't understand what you mean by "bridged" along with "dual mono".

Seems to me he has four stereo amps, bridged so as to become monoblocks, with the speakers biamped.

Two stereo amps bridged, equals two or dual monoblocks. He used four Carvers, so two sets of two monoblocks, or four monoblocks depending on how you look at it.
The Carvers, when bridged, are rated for 8 ohms only. They are not rated for 4 or even 6 ohms when bridged, which explains why they overheated, and eventually failed.
