Soo... why did Kurt300 get banned?

I called him and even he has no idea what happened.

Maybe it was that last pair of LSiMs I just bought - if you buy more than 18 LSiM speakers some automated software marks your profile as implausible? :D

Seriously though, it's not important for a relative noob like me, but I would hope a long-term member that had this happen would have some way of having their posts restored, as well as their post count.

As much as I dislike the "ownership" displayed by certain members with over 32,000 posts, it would be a big loss for them and I hope the capacity to perform such restoration is created and available so that a large loss is not incurred to either the forum at large or any member that has given so much of their time to this place.

Maybe they meant to ban Kurt299 or Kurt301 and just made an honest mistake...

Seriously, if somebody like @F1nut or @DarqueKnight or @VR3 to name only a few gets banned by mistake, all their posts and threads are lost?

Perhaps, not a likely event, but something should be done to prevent such a loss.

While i agree it's a software flaw, none of the posts are actually lost, just the users connection to the posts. Many people have been banned in the past, and you can still see those posts...

Maybe in the past. My previous posts are gone from the threads.

    Moose68Bash, I agree completely.

F1Nut, it doesn't surprise me that you would answer my mostly sympathetic post to your position with negativity, and miss the point (as usual). It's just in your nature.

Reality check: Polk Audio owns this forum. Ken S currently moderates it. Spend as much of your life as you want posting a tremendous amount of mostly arrogant and belittling comments, mixed with advice that is sometimes useful and sometimes wrong. It won't make you own one iota of this site, or apparently even guarantee that all your postings won't vanish one day because of a bug or mistake. So yes, "ownership" belongs in quotes and is not real, as much as you might wish for it.

Despite that, I suggested that even someone I personally feel has a net negative worth to this forum should carry enough perqs by essentially devoting a significant portion of his life, to have the true owners of this site not crush his self-worth which apparently is greatly related to a little post counter on a web site.

But then you insulted me and made me cry. So, you win - I won't expose you to any more reality checks. :)

I must be getting old....because apparently I missed the part where that statement was contradicted. As far as I'm aware, no one member, or group of members has laid claim to ownership of anything.

Maybe we should do a crowd source, buy Polk, get rid of Vanilla, and then sell it with the requirement vBulletin is only upgraded, but only replaced with approval from a majority of users. Also, no infantile censorship allowed.
